Dare we say that the roaring 1920s are one of our favorite style decades? And that's why we're obsessing over 1920s-inspired wedding dresses. The glitz, the glamour — the era was all about decadence and liberation, and the fashion of the time was no exception. Flappers’ swinging silhouettes were inspired by the bold patterns that marked Art Deco and surrealism, jazz music, and Egyptian motifs (thanks to the discovery of King Tut’s tomb). On one end of the fashion spectrum were loose and shapeless chemise dresses, with dropped waists, feathers and fringe, beading and sequins, sparkling embroidery, and exquisite detailing, while cowl draped silk satin bias cuts marked the other end. It was the first time opulence met the free spirit, coming together for wild elegance.

It’s why we have such a soft spot for 1920s-inspired wedding dresses today. Seriously, who wouldn’t want to look like a 1920s screen siren? Channel her style with Temperley Bridal and Jenny Packham’s loose, silk confections, Marchesa Notte’s fringe-tastic flapper silhouette, Alon Livne and Maggie Sottero’s opulent embellishments and embroidery, Naeem Khan and Julie Vino’s dazzling silver silhouettes with fringe, and Berta’s modern, sexy take on the strong geometry of Art Deco lines. Or take decadence to new heights in Rivini by Rita Vinieri’s dazzling gold number with extravangtly detailed beading.

Whether the designs are a subtle nod to the Jazz Age or full of head to toe flapper pizzazz, their vintage touch is, ironically, timeless. There’s a reason why 1920s-inspired wedding dresses are still in vogue. Bridal trends may come and go, but the allure of the 1920s continues to influence designers today.

So, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite 1920s-inspired wedding dresses from the latest spring collections perfect for your Art Deco affair. All you need now is a vintage headpiece, a string of pearls, and a glass of bubbly.
